Call of The Sea Arrives On PS4 And PS5

Call of the Sea is out now on PlayStation consoles

If you’re looking for a Lovecraftian adventure that chooses to play out a little differently from the usual cosmic nihilism that both his work and adaptations are known for, then look no further than Out of The Blue Games puzzle/adventure title Call of The Sea. Releasing originally on Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC on December 8th 2020 to great reviews, Out of the Blue are now releasing the game for PS4 and PS5 on May 11th 2021. In short, it should be out on the Playstation Store by the time you read this.

Heavily inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft and filled to the brim with references, Call of The Sea is a Lovecraftian narrative adventure and puzzle game that chooses to subvert some of the Lovecraftian tropes inherent in both his fiction and the different media inspired by them. Players take on the role of Nora Everhart (voiced wonderfully by Cissy Jones), a sickly woman who chooses to brave the dangers of the mighty Pacific to find out what happened to her husband Harry and the expedition he led to find a cure for her ailment.

During the adventure players will be able to explore a lush pacific island locale, complete with puzzles that need to be solved to help progress the story and decipher what it is exactly that connects Nora to this island.
