What’s On Sale – PC Edition

Gaming is an expensive hobby, luckily Steam, Good Old Games (GOG) and the Epic Game Store run sales on what seems like a daily basis on a wide range of titles.

With many of us still choosing to remain indoors as much as possible, gaming is our one escape from the four walls of our homes. And of course it is a little bit more interactive than watching Netflix. There are just so many episodes of Bridgerton after all. However gaming is an expensive hobby, luckily Steam, Good Old Games (GOG) and the Epic Game Store run sales on what seems like a daily basis on a wide range of titles.

What’s on Steam?

Steam is known for their massive seasonal sales, sales almost solely responsible for my pile ‘o shame. However their largesse is not confined to those sales. This week they have some worthwhile games available for a wallet friendly price.

The pick of the bunch is Ghostrunner. A first person cyberpunk hack/slash game that asks the question, what if we added swords and cyber-ninjas to Mirrors Edge. The base game will cost you R234.50 with the full game plus two DLC costing R287.04. Well worth it considering how great this game is.

If you are a Sims fan you can pick up Sims 4 at a massive 88% off for just R71.99.

Capcom is having a publisher sale and the pick of their games has to be Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition and Devil May Cry V discounted by 41% and 20% respectively (R555.38 & R319.20)

What’s on GoG?

GoG is CD Projekt Red’s store front, started as a way for classic PC games to get into gamer’s hands legitimately and it has expanded to new releases and modern titles.

This week they have some very appealing games, some old and some new, on sale.

The main attraction is the Bethesda publisher sale. My pick is Dishonored Definitive Edition for just $8.  While you are picking that up you may as well get the sequel at a slightly more, but no less unaffordable $16. These are both excellent games and well worth playing through.

While not as loved as Dishonored, Prey is just as good at the stealthing and that’s available for just $12.

What’s on Epic?

The Epic Game store has fewer games on sale than the other two platforms, but the big one currently available is an EGS exclusive. This being Hitman 3, which is available for steal at R317.24.

The other notable pick on EGS is the Curse of the Dead Gods at R199.20. Curse of the Dead Gods is an action packed roguelike adventure and currently has a crossover update happening with Dead Cells. For those that don’t know, Dead Cells is an amazing Roguelike platformer that will keep you coming back for “just one more run” and the crossover update in Curse of the Dead Gods looks to add some of that to its own adventure.
