The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is making the transition from Wii to the Switch this Friday, July 16th with an enhanced HD update that is bringing some new features and quality of life changes to the game.
Skyward Sword is an origin story for the Zelda series, detailing the origin of the Master Sword and throwing in some timey-wimey mechanics for plot and play. From a city in the sky to a land hidden beneath the clouds and all the dungeons in between, guide Link to save his friend Zelda and save the world in the process.
Originally released for the Wii in 2011, Skyward Sword was a motion controlled game, which thrilled many and disappointed others at the control method. With this new port, Nintendo have retained the original’s motion control functions for those who have a fully-sized Nintendo Switch, while adding a button control method for those who don’t care to be swinging their arms around wildly, and of course for Switch Lite owners.
New to this update will be a controllable camera, quick travel function, smoother motion controls and better tutorials and guidance throughout the adventure. Now take a gander at the trailer above and get hyped!
