Batora: Lost Haven – an isometric, puzzle- and combat-focussed adventure – was featured at the Future Game Show, with PC players able to take part in a closed alpha test. Registration for the alpha test is now open (closing July 20). The alpha test is scheduled to run for 2 weeks from July 21 to August 4.
Players take on the role of Avril, a 16-year-old girl who realises she might be the only one who can save a dying Earth from oblivion after a cataclysm takes everything from her. During the alpha, players will have time to get a feel for the combination of aRPG action and puzzles, while experiencing the narrative as they traverse Batora: Lost Haven’s diverse environments.
Moral decisions made during your playthrough will change the course of events, shaping the character’s personality, and providing an opportunity for non-linear storytelling. You’ve got the choice to mold Avril into a “Defender” or a “Conqueror”, while balancing her physical and mental powers (using the “Nature Switch” mechanic), which is used both to fight and solve puzzles.
Developers Stormind Games promise you’ll get a taste of the unique Nature Switch mechanic, and few narrative hints as to the secrets that lay behind the game universe. However, the alpha won’t spoil any significant plot details.
Batora: Lost Haven will launch on PC, Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S|X consoles, and the Nintendo Switch.
