If you haven’t gotten enough of the Cotton shooter series by now thanks to the recent release of Cotton Reboot! (check out our review of that here, then ININ Games has your number with the release of another Cotton game for modern systems, Panorama Cotton.
Originally released in 1994 and developed by Success, Panorama Cotton is the third game in the Cotton series and made a change from the series traditional side-scrolling bullet hell design. This time Cotton ventured into the realm of on-rail pseudo-3D shooters, a la Space Harrier. This time around, Cotton and Silk are on a mission to find out who burnt a willow that is affecting the Queen’s behaviour.
The game will be releasing digitally on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on October 29th, 2021.
What’s more, Strictly Limited Games will be releasing physical editions of the games for PS4 and Switch but there will be a limited amount of copies available. The Switch will have 2500 copies available for purchase while the PS4 will have 1500 copies available for the Standard Edition of the game.
A Collector’s Edition will also be available and this will be limited to 1500 copies for Switch and 800 for PS4.
The Collector’s Edition will contain the following:
- A copy of the game for PS4 or Switch
- Collector’s Edition Box
- A colourful game manual
- A Yunomi (Japanese style tea cup)
- A Natsume (Japanese style tea can)
- A Kakemono (Japanese style wall scroll)
- Original Soundtrack
- An A2 size reversible poster
- Six Postcards
- Two Lenticular Cards
- A window sticker
If that wasn’t enough, retro editions of the game will be available for the Genesis and Mega Drive. These will be limited to 600 Mega Drive cartridges and 900 Genesis compatible cartridges.
