Originally scheduled to come out in 2020, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has finally received a release date after being delayed for more development time.
The game, which will be adapting the entire nine arc run of mainline Star Wars movies that make up the Skywalker Saga will finally be heading out the door and onto machines not that Far Far Away on April 5th, 2022.
Along with the release date reveal, a new, in-depth gameplay trailer was also released. It’s not difficult to see why the game was delayed numerous times as, if the trailer is anything to go by, this looks to be the most ambitious Lego game the studio has developed to date.
First off, you’ll be able to play the games in any order you choose with new planets unlocked in Free Play mode as you journey through the campaigns. New combat mechanics for both melee and ranged attacks have been developed to help refine the age old Lego gameplay. The game will be full of sidequests to do as well having space-based exploration taking place in some of Star Wars’ most iconic vehicles.
With over 300 characters to unlock along with a skill tree system, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will keep you busy for ages. And for those fans of the traditional Lego games mumbling dialogue versus movie transplanted dialogue, that option is in there for you to unlock as well.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be available on Xbox Series Machines, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Switch and PC on April 5th, 2022.
