After a rocky start on PC and the long-delayed Xbox Series S|X port, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is in much better shape – especially after the Class Overhaul patch in August. Now, on the cusp of its 1-year anniversary, Fatshark has announced a two-part update, “The Traitor Curse“, that’ll introduce brand new content with Part 1 releasing in November, and Part 2 aiming for December.
New features in The Traitor Cruse update include:
- A new cinematic to explain the motivations of the Moebian 6th and introduce The Carnival, a new disreputable zone promising transgressive distractions and entertainment.
- A new zone & mission that has your team strike at the heart of the Moebian 6th operations and fend off hordes of enemies in Mercantile located in The Carnival.
- An “Inspect Feature” that allows you to take a look at other players’ loadouts within the Mourningstar hub.
- Updates to the Veteran Talent Tree, with multiple changes and tweaks promised, plus the addition of Keystones.
For now, all we have is The Traitor Curse trailer and half a roadmap you can check out above but, if you’ve not played it yet (maybe have been put off by the bad reception at launch) Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is still part of the Xbox Game Pass Console/Ultimate subscription. It’s now well worth a try if you enjoyed their prior Warhammer: Vermintide games or just enjoy coop PvE games in general, and it runs (mostly) smoothly on both the Xbox Series X and even the budget Xbox Series S console.
We’ll have some updated impressions of The Traitor Curse content once it’s live.
