It’s been months since WB Interactive and WB Games Montreal showed off any further news or footage of its upcoming Batman themed action RPG, Gotham Knights. The open world solo or co-op play game was originally scheduled to release in 2021 but has since been delayed to 2022.

Now, ahead of the announcement that an exclusive reveal would be shown at DC Fandome on October 16th, new Key Art for the game has been released. Functioning more as a poster, the neon drenched image highlights the Bat-family members that players will be taking control of as they make their way through Gotham. Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and Red Hood will be yours to destroy crime with when the game finally ships in 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.

While the game features characters and location from previous Arkham games, this will be a new story featuring the above heroes and will be separate from the Arkham series. In Gotham Knights, Batman is apparently dead, leaving Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and Red Hood to take to the streets and stop Gotham from descending into violence.

Gameplay will feature drop-in and out co-op play for two players and will feature an RPG progression system with enemies that level up as you do.

While we’re waiting to see more of the game, and waiting for that release date, you can also take a look at the gameplay walkthrough that was revealed months ago. How much has changed, if at all, remains to be seen.
