Evil Dead fans just can’t get enough Evil Dead. It’s a fact. While there’s been some great material on the cinematic side of the franchise, including a new movie that just went into production, the gaming side had been Deadite free for far too long.
Originally announced in December, 2020, Saber Interactive have finally revealed a gameplay trailer for Evil Dead: The Game and it’s looking surprisingly solid. Following in the footsteps of multiplayer titles such as Left 4 Dead, Evil Dead: The Game is a 3rd person melee – with some gunplay – co-op and PVP title featuring characters from across the Evil Dead universe.
Players will take on the role of one of four Evil Dead characters from across the cinematic universe in a bid to save the world from a Deadite invasion while one other player will take on the role of the Kandarian demon and possess other Deadites – and even heroes – to stop them. Classic locations from the movies, such as Professor Knowby’s iconic cabin in the woods, will make up the levels as the heroes search for pages from the Necronomicon to seal away the ancient evil.
The game will be pulling characters from Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness and Ash vs Evil Dead. Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash while Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo will be reprising their roles as Pablo and Kelly from Ash vs Evil Dead.
Expect lots of blood to flow with groovy executions when the game launches sometime in 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
